Dean's List
The Division of General Studies honors all of its students whose grade-point average for that semester ranks in the upper 20 percent of DGS students.
Eligibility Criteria
The minimum grade-point average establishing eligibility for the Dean's List in the 2009-2010 academic year is 3.66.
Completion of at least 14 hours of course work in which traditional letter grades are earned. This excludes the following:
- Courses graded credit/no credit
- Courses graded satisfactory/unsatisfactory
- Test-based credit that is graded pass/fail
- Any course work completed through study abroad
No consideration is given until final traditional grades are in for courses designated "I" (incomplete) and "DFR" (deferred grading).
If you believe you should receive this honor as a result of a grade change or a grade received more than a month after the end of the semester, notify the Honors Director to ensure that corrective action will be taken.
Recognition
Dean's List recognition is noted on the official University of Illinois transcript and is posted each semester on the University of Illinois News Bureau website.
Additionally, students will receive a letter of recognition from the Division of General Studies sent to their designated mailing address.
