Visit DGS

Visiting campus is a great way to connect with us. Find out what works best for you and your family's schedule.

Discover DGS

At this information session, admitted students and families hear from DGS administrators, advisors, current students, and alumni. Presenters share the benefits of being undeclared at Illinois, how students choose an Illinois major, and the honors and study abroad opportunities for DGS students. Following this session, families have an opportunity to talk individually with the speakers.

Discover DGS takes place one Saturday each spring. More information will be provided closer to the event.

Other Visit Programs

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers a number of other visit options for you and your family, including Daily Admitted Visits and Admitted Student Days.

Daily Admitted Visits include a presentation by Admissions, a student panel, and a student-led tour of campus. When you register, you may also request a college meeting with one of our DGS directors. Admitted Student Days, held in February, March, and April, offer a DGS information session and a meet-and-greet with DGS administrators, advisors, and students.

Phone Appointments

If you are unable to visit campus or have already visited, you're welcome to schedule a phone appointment with our Admissions Director by calling our advising center at 217-333-4710.

James Scholar Dinner Receptions

These events are intended for students admitted as DGS James Scholars. Award letters have been sent to student recipients, along with an invitation to one of our dinner receptions. Participants learn more about the honors program and DGS, as well as have the opportunity to chat with current James Scholars, advisors, and honors faculty.
