Academic Advising Appointments in DGS

All DGS advising appointments will take place either virtually or through a phone call. Advisors will be available to discuss major selection, course planning, ICT requirement, academic progress, and all other academic related questions you may have as we normally do. Appointments can be made through our online appointment system or by calling our office at 217-333-4710.

Virtual appointments: You will receive an e-mail from your advisor at the time of your meeting with instructions on how to join. If you have not joined by 5 minutes after the appointment start time, your advisor will try calling you at the number you have indicated in our online appointment system. At that point, if the advisor still has not gotten a hold of you, it will be considered a missed appointment. If you are having technical difficulties, please let your advisor know and an alternate delivery method can be offered for your appointment.

Phone appointments: Your advisor will call you at your appointment start time at the number listed in our online appointment system. Please be sure that this number, whether it is domestic or international, is up to date. As above, the advisor will try calling you again 5 minutes after the appointment start time.
